Imagine this: Your child, eyes sparkling with curiosity, asks a question about the world around them. Maybe it's about the vibrant colors of a butterfly, the power of a thunderstorm, or the secrets hidden within a cell.

As a parent, you want to nurture that spark, to guide them on a path of discovery. That's where I come in, Ms. Smith, your child's partner in scientific exploration! My journey with science began in Atlanta, Georgia fueled by a childhood fascination with taking things apart and putting them back together (mostly!). Inspiring teachers helped my curiosity take flight, and now, that same passion burns bright within me. But I'm more than just a teacher with a love for science. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology (Go Wolves, West Georgia University!), a Master's degree in Secondary Education, and I'm currently pursuing a Doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction. Why? Because I believe in continuous learning, in constantly seeking new and engaging ways to ignite the scientific spirit in young minds.

My credentials are important, but my true magic lies in my approach. I'm a: Nationally Certified STEM Educator: I'm a total whiz at fostering a love for science! Google Certified Educator (Levels 1 & 2): We'll leverage technology to make our scientific adventures even more exciting! Together, you and your child will embark on a journey of discovery, making science both stimulating and rewarding.

 

My dedication extends beyond the curriculum. Just like Proverbs 3:15-17 describes, I believe in fostering the whole child. That's why I lead the Biology Team, ensuring a strong foundation for your child's scientific studies. I mentor future educators, constantly seeking ways to improve the learning experience. I secure funding for innovative science projects, providing opportunities for hands-on exploration. I even wear many hats within the classroom, from intervention specialist to course developer, to ensure every student has the support they need to thrive.

Let's unlock the wonders of science, build a strong foundation for their academic success, and help them navigate the challenges of school life.
